24 Hours at the Le Méridien, Stuttgart
Well, Stuttgart is not very famous for having a vast choice of luxury hotels. If you are interested in culture or having a shopping trip I recommend the Starwood managed hotel Le Meriden Stuttgart. Perfectly located near the central station and only a five minute walk from the famous „Königstrasse", this place is one of the finest to stay in Stuttgart. The hotel offers 293 rooms and suites in five categories and two presidential suites.
All room rates Include the tickets to the museum „Staatsgalerie" - in accordance to the Destination Unlocked Philosophy by Le Meridien. Once a year, there's also a Vernissage held in the hotel lobby where famous artists present their latest art pieces. Those objects can be purchased at the hotel of course which is a cool add—on.
I stopped my car in front of the main entrance which is very vast and beautiful with the doors opening immediately and the bellman taking care of my luggage, my car and everything else. Since we both were in a hurry, I was happy they offered valet parking - I always love this when having a tough schedule. The hotel was fully booked during this weekend however the check-in has been done rapidly. My room was ready and after a brief hotel tour with the marketing manager Mrs. A, I swept up to the fourth floor. Having arrived in my recently renovated and chic Executive Room, I knew it was the perfect choice to stay here. One of the biggest advantages in my opinion is the guaranteed late check out till 4:00 pm. In addition to that benefit, every guest gets a voucher for a complementary coffee because the hotel has a partnership with Illy Coffee. A spacious room with a total of 30 square meters and a great view towards the central station was waiting for us. Furthermore the room was filled with lots of daylight and a modern marbled bathroom equipped with a bath tub and Malin + Goetz amenities. As usual at Le Meridien properties, the beds were very comfortable! One of the highlights of this room is the minibar filled with local drinks and snacks. Every Executive Chic Room has a Nespresso machine as well.
After a quick walk through the „Königstrasse" which was recommended to us by the very competent and friendly concierge, we decided to grab dinner at the restaurant Le Cassoulet - the main restaurant at the Le Meriden. Our pre-dinner cocktails were served in the very lovely hotel lobby bar by the attentive waiters.
The dinner itself was prepared as a vast buffet with local specialities like dumplings or roast-beef. In addition to that, the Le Meriden hosts a lot of international guests so they offered some oysters and shrimp cocktails which were perfectly seasoned. Again the waiters were attentive and very nice! Also remarkable was the great wine selection from Germany to France.
Due to the fact that we had a meeting at noon, we decided to get up early and explore the 850 square meter spa area. The spa has its own elevator to enhance privacy to the spa users. In addition to the spa area there is also a big gym which is accessible 24/7. A small bar which offers coffee and fresh juices is located next to the entrance. The actual spa area is located a level below and includes two saunas, an infrared cabin and a steam sauna. The very warm jacuzzi invites you relax after swimming in the main pool. All in all the spa area is better than in many other German city hotels and can be accessed from 7am to 11pm.
After our morning spa session we enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was served at the restaurant „La Cassoulet". The highlight was the homemadehoney from the hotels own beehives which are looked after by a professional beekeeper
