Travel Executive at ILTM Cannes
We have been not very active on our website, well yes, however we have been more active in being present at the luxury travel industry's most exciting event of the year: the ILTM in Cannes. Of course it was a pleasure to attend this extraordinary event. One week in Cannes, one out-of-this-world-week. Plenty of champagne was flowing and after the first five glasses on our first day in the Palais de Festival we knew why they started serving alcohol from 4pm only :)!
Well, not everything was pleasure - the main part of Cannes has been the work. We had a total of 35 pre-fixed appointments with the best of luxury hotels all over the globe (including Singapore, St. Barths and Brazil), plus some great non-planned meetings with interesting hotels in UK, Ireland and Amsterdam! So this means 2016 could be an amazingly interesting year to follow Europe's finest luxury travel blog.
While the most stylish stand has been the Bulgari Hotels stand, the LHW stand (occupying nearly the whole top floor) was the one to be at Happy Hour (4pm) when the two best barkeepers of the world came to their most passionate hour of life. While Colin Field was more into the classical inspired cocktails head barkeeper from JK Place Roma got out attention with a perfect sparkling combination of Bellavista Vintage Franciacorta and Fentiman's Ginger Beer. Well, the Canapés were not bad either and always excellent to be tough enough for the last meetings of the day.
Wednesday afternoon, the Dorchester Collection held an afternoon tea of its finest. While champagne and pastries by french patisserie Lenotre were treating the gourmet habits, we were enjoying the nice welcome by one of the world's most prestigious hotel collections. Having planned to stay for 30 minutes longest, we could leave after 1,5 hours as it has been such a funny and interesting chat! We continued our "networking appointments" at Rocco Forte Hotels stand where we ran into Sir Rocco Forte himself. Lobster hors d'oeuvre were soon served and best Ruinart was flowing into our empty glasses.
Before we could went back to our accommodation, we had to pass by Armani's invitation-only party where we were treated with Taittinger and italian-inspired appetiziers. More glamorous parties such as the annual LVMH party at the Dior Suite, the Four Seasons La Dolce Vita Party as well as a michelin-starred Sicily-inspired party by Therasia Resort, followed.
Above all there were the two main parties at the Martinez on Tuesday night, and the one at Le Majestic with food and a never ending selection of sweets to die for. All in all ILTM has been another highlight of 2015 and we hope to be back at ILTM 2016!
Thank you to Cut Communications for the invitation to attend ILTM and LVMH, Armani Hotels, Therasia Sea&Spa, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Dorchester Collection, Rocco Forte Hotels, Barriere Hotels and Grand Hyatt Martinez for the being amazing party hosts.
